Broadridge Brings Crypto and Tokenized Assets to U.S. Wealth Managers

Broadridge Financial Solutions is launching its digital asset platform in the U.S., allowing wealth managers to integrate cryptocurrencies and tokenized securities into traditional portfolios. The move aims to bridge the gap between emerging digital markets and the established infrastructure currently used by broker-dealers and investment advisers.

The platform, already active in Canada, leverages partnerships with Anchorage Digital and Galaxy Digital to provide institutional-grade custody and settlement. By embedding these assets directly into existing workflows, Broadridge intends to simplify the operational hurdles associated with trading and managing non-traditional investments. Advisors can now facilitate both self-directed and advisor-led trading while maintaining standard compliance, regulatory reporting, and tax documentation processes.

Tom Carey, global head of product and technology at Broadridge, noted that the company is shifting digital assets from the periphery to the center of mainstream investment discussions. The system supports a wide range of assets, including tokenized equities and private funds, through its DLX infrastructure. This backend technology currently facilitates the daily settlement of over $351 billion in tokenized real-world assets via the Distributed Ledger Repo solution.

For firms, the integration means that proxy voting, governance, and asset servicing for tokenized shares will mirror the experience of traditional securities. Nathan McCauley, CEO of Anchorage Digital, emphasized that the goal is to provide the same level of trust and rigor for digital holdings as clients expect from their conventional portfolios. The platform is designed to handle the continuous, 24/7 nature of digital markets, ensuring that wealth managers can scale their offerings as investor demand evolves.
