PRC-Saltillo Launches Genesis Series for AAC Communicators
With sixty years of clinical and engineering expertise behind them, Wooster-based PRC-Saltillo has unveiled the Genesis product line. These Windows-based communication devices, arriving in 13-inch and 16-inch models, aim to support individuals living with ALS, cerebral palsy, and other complex, long-term communication challenges through enhanced hardware and durability.
The new hardware introduces significant physical upgrades, including a three-inch angled partner display and a surround-style audio system with front- and rear-facing speakers. To accommodate varying physical needs, the devices feature a multi-angle kickstand, larger tactile power and volume buttons, and extended battery life. Users can integrate diverse access methods, such as advanced eye-tracking technology with improved outdoor performance, head trackers, and various wireless or wired switch options.
PRC-Saltillo has focused on maintaining continuity for existing users by ensuring the devices remain compatible with established software platforms like Empower and NuVoice. The series supports signature vocabulary systems including Unity, LAMP Words for Life, and WordPower. Each unit comes protected by a five-year High Five Warranty. Shipping for both trials and permanent devices begins in the United States this October, while the company launches an international tour to provide hands-on demonstrations for families and clinical professionals.
