The leadership transition sees David Luxton shifting from Executive Chairman to a Non-Executive Chairman role, while board member Paul Fortin departs after five years of service. DEFSEC leadership identified Weber’s extensive background in software development and his tenure at the helm of the Canadian and International Red Cross as key assets for the company’s upcoming market expansion. CEO Sean Homuth noted that Weber’s expertise will be critical in maturing the firm’s oversight mechanisms and navigating the increasingly complex defense sector.

Weber brings a wealth of institutional experience to the role, having previously led large-scale strategic transformations across public and not-for-profit organizations. His arrival coincides with the company’s presence at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference in New York, where executives are highlighting their current portfolio, which ranges from tactical situational awareness systems to the proprietary PARA SHOT™ less-lethal product line.
