Georgetown Launches Master's Degree Focused on AI Leadership
As artificial intelligence reshapes the professional landscape, Georgetown University is launching a Master’s in Strategic Leadership & AI. The program aims to move beyond technical development, focusing instead on how managers can integrate AI into organizational strategy while maintaining human-centered, ethical decision-making practices for future business environments.
The curriculum is designed for professionals with five to 15 years of experience, including aspiring managers and emerging leaders. Rather than requiring deep technical expertise in AI development, the program emphasizes change management, leadership coaching, and the responsible adoption of new tools. Graduates will earn both a Master of Professional Studies and an embedded Professional Certificate in Coaching Skills for Strategic Leaders, providing a dual-credential outcome from a single enrollment.
Kelly Otter, dean of the School of Continuing Studies, noted that the industry urgently requires leaders who drive transformation rather than reacting to it. Faculty director George Moschoglou echoed this, framing the future of management as an orchestration of human teams and AI agents. The asynchronous, online program is interdisciplinary, incorporating an optional global study tour to provide international perspectives on organizational change. Applications are currently open for the inaugural class beginning in Fall 2027, with an open house scheduled for October 6 and a webinar on November 6.
