New Orleans Marriott Completes Massive Property-Wide Overhaul
With 1,333 guest rooms overhauled and a redesigned M Club now open, the New Orleans Marriott has wrapped one of the most extensive renovations in its history. The project targets the modern needs of convention and leisure travelers at the hotel's prominent 555 Canal Street location.

The transformation touches every corner of the property, replacing dated layouts with contemporary finishes and flexible furniture. General Manager Frank Zumbo noted that the upgrades reflect a strategic shift to better serve high-volume group travel while maintaining the brand's reputation in the heart of the city's cultural district. Key changes include converting double-double rooms to queen-queen configurations and installing walk-in showers and space-saving barn doors across the guest room inventory.
Premium accommodations received significant attention, with the hotel’s signature suites—including the Presidential and Mayor’s suites—now featuring residential-style amenities, hard-surface flooring, and upgraded wet bars. Beyond the rooms, the M Club has been reimagined with a neutral color palette and functional, modern seating to cater to high-tier loyalty members. These updates complement the hotel’s 86,000 square feet of meeting space, which remains a primary draw for events near the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the Caesars Superdome.
