Crunchtime Integrates Kitchen Display Systems into Unified Ops Suite

Boston-based restaurant software leader Crunchtime is merging its kitchen display systems with its inventory and operations platforms to create a centralized command center. By consolidating task management and waste tracking directly onto the KDS screen, the company aims to eliminate the friction of juggling multiple back-of-house devices during shifts.

The integration follows Crunchtime’s 2025 merger with QSR Automations, effectively linking Crunchtime Kitchen, Ops Execution, and Inventory. This shift allows kitchen staff to access prep instructions, log food waste, and manage operational tasks without leaving their stations. According to Brian Herr, SVP of Product, the goal is to dismantle software silos that force teams to switch between disparate devices, keeping front-line employees focused on a single, familiar interface.

Beyond streamlining manual tasks, the update introduces a unified intelligence layer. By feeding speed-of-service, ticket times, and cook-time variance into the company's broader analytics suite, operators can now correlate kitchen performance with labor, POS, and inventory data. CEO John Raguin stated that this single source of truth is designed to help general managers and above-store leaders identify operational blind spots and shift from reactive adjustments to proactive decision-making. Crunchtime plans to demonstrate these capabilities at upcoming industry events, including FS/TEC in Grapevine and the Hospitality Tech Expo in London.
