New7Wonders Launches Global Vote for Cities of the Future
On World Cities Day, a ceremonial switch-on in New Clark City, Philippines, officially opened global public voting to identify the seven urban developments destined to define the next century. The campaign, hosted by the New7Wonders foundation, invites citizens worldwide to weigh in on the evolution of modern metropolitan life.
The digital transition of the campaign website, 7wondersfc.com, marks the start of a year-long selection process that concludes on October 31, 2027. Jean-Paul de la Fuente, director of the initiative, described the launch as the beginning of a worldwide conversation regarding how we inhabit urban spaces. This project follows the foundation’s previous campaigns, which collectively drew over 600 million votes to recognize global landmarks and natural wonders.
Candidates are judged across three core pillars: Environmental and Nature integration, Smart City infrastructure, and Human-Centric design. By shifting focus from historical heritage to contemporary innovation, organizers aim to highlight projects that balance technological advancement with ecological stability and the practical needs of urban residents. The campaign is managed by Global Platform Limited, the Dubai-based commercial arm of the New7Wonders organization.
