These upgrades are complemented by 2,500 public education campaigns reaching 690 million people.

Technological deployment has been tailored to specific environmental threats. In Guizhou, 224 IoT-enabled micro-meteorological stations provide real-time alerts for icy roads and fog, while Hunan authorities utilize BeiDou-equipped drones for night patrols and rapid incident response. These interventions delivered sharp declines in claims during the 2026 Spring Festival and Labor Day holidays, with average property losses per claim falling by nearly 20%. Ping An officials describe the program as a core component of their broader pivot toward risk governance, aiming to align corporate social responsibility with the long-term sustainability of their insurance underwriting models.
