Aurora Cannabis Bets on European Expansion to Drive Fiscal Growth
Aurora Cannabis is doubling down on its international medical marijuana strategy, reaffirming its fiscal 2027 second-quarter guidance as it integrates the newly acquired Safari Flower Company. The Edmonton-based firm is leveraging its EU-GMP certified capacity to capture growing demand across Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
Executive Chairman and CEO Miguel Martin pointed to the company's established infrastructure and regulatory expertise as the primary drivers for its current momentum. With a debt-free balance sheet and $149 million in cash reserves as of June 30, 2026, Aurora intends to prioritize investments in its international operations over the coming quarters. The company currently commands a top-tier market share in Poland and is actively scaling its footprint in the UK market following the recent acquisitions of Internode Pharma and HAP Pharma Limited.
The strategic focus remains on high-margin medical segments where Aurora’s indoor production capabilities provide a competitive edge. By integrating Safari Flower Company, the firm expects to increase both net revenue and adjusted EBITDA, meeting the needs of a global medical cannabis market estimated at $9 billion. While the company maintains an "at-the-market" equity program, management emphasized that it will only be utilized when it aligns with long-term shareholder value.
