CTA Construction Encloses New Countryside Elementary School

The project, developed alongside the Massachusetts School Building Authority, marks another collaboration between the City of Newton and CTA Construction Managers. The authority is contributing over $20 million in grant funding toward the new site, which is rising on the grounds of the existing school. Once the building opens to students in January 2027, the older structure will be demolished to make room for new playing fields.

Pat Tompkins, principal at CTA, noted that the weather-tight enclosure allows trade partners to accelerate work on finishes and internal systems. The project also extends a two-decade partnership between CTA and DiNisco Design, who have now teamed up on ten school developments across the state. Following their previous work on the Spaulding and Lincoln-Eliot elementary schools, the team is now moving into the final stages of transforming the shell into a functional classroom space for the local community.
