SKF Debuts Modular Progressive Lubrication Pump to Minimize Downtime
Engineered to tackle the high costs of unplanned maintenance, SKF has unveiled its Progressive Lubrication Pump, a modular system designed for both industrial and mobile machinery. The unit integrates advanced grease-level monitoring and connectivity, aiming to extend the service life of critical components through precise, automated delivery.
The PLP serves as the inaugural product in a new lubrication platform from the Gothenburg-based manufacturer, signaling a shift toward more adaptable, scalable hardware. By combining Lincoln and SKF’s technical heritage, the system prioritizes ease of installation and simplified service access, which the company claims will reduce the long-term total cost of ownership.
Christophe Laurans, Head of Automatic Lubrication Systems, emphasized that minimizing downtime remains the primary driver behind the design. The pump’s modular architecture is intended to evolve alongside shifting asset reliability requirements. According to Philipp Herlein, Managing Director of SKF Lubrication Lifetime Solutions, the hardware provides immediate performance gains while establishing a foundation for future functional upgrades. The system is currently available for deployment across a wide range of fixed and mobile equipment, replacing manual lubrication tasks with automated, data-supported cycles.
