Penny Pixel, Powertip, and TARA Systems Simplify High-Res Display Design

The collaboration integrates Penny Pixel’s patented display-driving technology with Powertip’s manufacturing capabilities and TARA Systems’ Embedded Wizard GUI framework. By bypassing the need for expensive high-speed processors, large amounts of RAM, and dedicated flash memory, the solution significantly reduces the bill-of-materials cost for embedded products. Developers can now implement vibrant, high-resolution interfaces on standard microcontrollers without sacrificing visual performance.

Manuel Melic, head of product development at Embedded Wizard, noted that the partnership allows manufacturers to provide the modern displays users expect while keeping hardware overhead minimal. To assist with adoption, the companies have released a ready-to-use evaluation kit designed to mitigate technical risks during the integration of hardware and software.
