EVA Air Secures Three Top Rankings in 2026 SKYTRAX Awards
With three first-place finishes at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, EVA Air has solidified its standing in international aviation. The Taipei-based carrier claimed the top spots for family friendliness and premium economy services while extending its streak of 5-Star Airline certifications to eleven consecutive years.
The airline's performance at this year's ceremony included securing 18 top-ten rankings across various categories, highlighting its dominance in the premium economy sector. EVA Air, which famously pioneered the premium economy cabin in 1992, took home the awards for World’s Best Premium Economy Class and Best Premium Economy Class Airline Amenities. SKYTRAX CEO Edward Plaisted noted the carrier's continued excellence in these areas, particularly as premium economy cabins see rapid growth across the industry.
Beyond these accolades, the airline continues to expand its footprint with new operational milestones. Starting December 1, EVA Air will launch a new nonstop service between Taipei and Delhi using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. This move makes the carrier the only Taiwan-based airline to provide direct passenger service to India. The airline’s commitment to service is further evidenced by its recent recognition from Travel + Leisure as the No. 1 International Airline and a 7-Star PLUS safety rating from AirlineRatings.com.
