Skanska Secures $84 Million Contract for Georgia Data Center
A fresh $84 million contract puts Swedish construction giant Skanska at the helm of a massive data center expansion in Georgia. The project, commissioned by an existing client, marks a significant addition to the company’s third-quarter order bookings for 2026 as demand for high-capacity digital infrastructure continues to surge.
The facility will span approximately 22,700 square meters, housing five dedicated colocation data halls alongside administrative offices. Engineered for a 48 MW capacity, the site requires comprehensive development, including all civil, structural, and mechanical systems. Skanska’s scope extends to final commissioning and interior fit-outs, ensuring the structure is operational upon delivery.
Construction crews are scheduled to break ground in November 2026. The project timeline spans nearly two years, with completion expected by the third quarter of 2028. This deal solidifies Skanska’s footprint in the competitive U.S. data center market, where the firm continues to leverage its history with long-term industrial partners.
