ExploRNA and Łukasiewicz-IChP Partner for GMP mRNA Cap Production
Warsaw-based ExploRNA Therapeutics is joining forces with the Łukasiewicz Industrial Chemistry Institute to transition its proprietary mRNA capping technology into Good Manufacturing Practice production, a move designed to secure the supply chain for clinical-stage mRNA vaccines and advanced genetic medicines.
The collaboration centers on scaling the manufacturing of ExploRNA’s AvantCap Q1 technology. Co-transcriptional capping remains a vital bottleneck in mRNA development, directly dictating the yield and translational efficiency of final drug products. By leveraging the synthesis capabilities of the Łukasiewicz-IChP, the biotech firm aims to bridge the gap between laboratory-scale innovation and the rigorous demands of late-stage clinical trials.
Prof. Jacek Jemielity, CEO of ExploRNA, noted that the partnership confirms the scalability of their proprietary synthesis processes. This manufacturing pipeline is intended to support global pharmaceutical developers by providing a reliable source of premium-grade raw materials, facilitating a smoother transition from early research to commercial-scale production.
