Pylontech Scales Utility-Scale Storage with New High-Capacity Cells

The 601Ah variant stands out for its technical specifications, delivering an energy density of 425.8Wh/L and a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles, while maintaining 96.5% energy efficiency. By increasing individual cell capacity, Pylontech aims to reduce the total number of components and interconnections required in large-scale systems, which simplifies integration and improves overall lifecycle economics. These cells are currently being incorporated into the PyOcean 6.25MWh and 8MWh storage units.

Production relies on a highly automated facility in Hefei, where 120 industrial robots and 180 pieces of intelligent equipment handle the assembly. A centralized manufacturing execution system ensures end-to-end traceability for every unit, maintaining quality control as production ramps up. Pylontech’s expansion follows a series of high-capacity deployments, including a 200MW/400MWh standalone battery energy storage system in Ningxia and a 120MW/240MWh installation in Yangzhou, alongside ongoing projects across Europe.
