Jodie Sweetin and John Brotherton Reunite in vertTV Microseries

The series centers on Dr. Emily Harper, a big-city medical specialist who returns to her roots after her father, played by Home Improvement icon Richard Karn, falls ill. Tasked with rescuing her father’s struggling practice, Harper finds herself caught between a rekindled romance with a local figure from her past and an alluring offer that threatens to pull her back to her former life. The project marks the first on-screen collaboration for Sweetin, Brotherton, and Sokoloff since the conclusion of their previous long-running sitcom.

Finding Hope is part of an aggressive expansion for vertTV, a Los Angeles-based studio founded by industry veterans Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, and Peter Sullivan. The platform differentiates itself by utilizing traditional union crews and professional writers to produce mobile-first content, explicitly eschewing generative AI in favor of human artistry. Following recent releases like Lone Star Hearts and Call of Duty and Love, the service now offers a library of over 200 titles available via its standalone iOS and Android applications.
