Olympic Medalist Chaunté Lowe to Keynote OMED26 in Las Vegas
Four-time Olympian and high jump record holder Chaunté Lowe will headline the American Osteopathic Association’s OMED26 conference, scheduled for October 22-25 at Caesars Palace. Following a personal battle with breast cancer, the bronze medalist plans to address how physicians can cultivate resilience within their clinical practices and personal lives.
Lowe’s keynote, set for 4:00 pm PST on October 24, anchors a four-day event expected to draw 3,500 osteopathic physicians, residents, and students. The conference serves as the profession's largest annual gathering, featuring 175 sessions focused on clinical excellence and professional development.
Preceding the keynote on October 23, a panel of experts will examine the shifting landscape of patient care as AI, retail clinics, and virtual platforms reshape medical delivery. The panel includes Omar B. Lateef of Rush University System for Health, Creagh Milford of CVS Health, Dawn Mussallem of Fountain Life, and Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Leigh A. Swanson of the Air Force Medical Command. AOA President Richard R. Thacker noted the session aims to bridge the gap between diverse care environments, from military bases to retail settings, while keeping the patient experience central to medical practice.
