Lemonade Expands Pet Insurance Coverage to Kentucky
Pet owners in Kentucky can now access Lemonade’s digital-first insurance platform, which promises to replace traditional, multi-week claims processing with near-instant payouts. The expansion marks the 44th state where the New York-based carrier has rolled out its pet-specific policies, bringing the company closer to its goal of nationwide availability.
The offering covers a broad spectrum of veterinary needs, including diagnostics, medications, and procedures for accidents or illnesses. Users manage their policies entirely through the Lemonade app, where they can customize deductibles, reimbursement rates, and coverage limits to match their financial needs. Optional add-ons extend to dental care, physical therapy, and behavioral treatments, with specialized preventative packages available for puppies and kittens.
"Kentuckians love their pets, and they shouldn't have to navigate an outdated claims process to take care of them," said Yael Cohen, SVP of Pet and Life at Lemonade. The company incentivizes multi-pet households with automatic discounts, while further savings are available for those who bundle their pet coverage with existing renters or homeowners insurance. Prospective customers can obtain quotes directly via the Lemonade website or mobile application.
