Eight Sleep Unveils Compact Cooling Hub for Pod 6 System
Squeezing high-end thermal regulation into a smaller footprint, Eight Sleep has debuted its Pod 6 system, featuring a redesigned control hub compact enough to slide under most bed frames. The company claims this hardware overhaul delivers faster temperature adjustments while integrating more sophisticated health and sleep tracking sensors than its predecessor.
The Pod 6 marks a significant shift in the company’s product strategy, prioritizing a lower profile for its primary cooling unit. By re-engineering the electrical, mechanical, and software components from scratch, Eight Sleep reports the hub is now half the size of previous iterations while boosting cooling speed by 20 percent. The system continues to circulate water through a mattress cover, dynamically adjusting temperatures based on real-time biometric data like heart rate and respiratory patterns.
Pricing for the new lineup starts at $2,699 for a full-size Standard model, climbing to $2,999 for king and California king configurations. For the first time, the company is introducing a Solo option priced at $1,999, which covers only half of a mattress to accommodate single sleepers. Prospective buyers must also account for a mandatory annual subscription, costing between $199 and $399. While the core system is available now, users can still pair it with existing add-ons such as the $999 cooling pillow cover.
