Going adds post-booking flight price tracking for members
Flight discovery app Going has launched a new feature designed to eliminate the post-purchase anxiety of airfare fluctuations. By monitoring booked itineraries, the service alerts users if ticket prices drop by at least 10%, allowing travelers to potentially reclaim savings that often manifest as future airline credits.
The feature, dubbed Price Drop, is now available to Premium and Elite members, who can track up to five upcoming trips simultaneously. According to CEO David Krauter, the initiative addresses a significant pain point for the company's 10 million users, 95% of whom report worrying about whether they secured the best possible fare at the time of booking.
When a qualifying price decrease is detected, the app provides specific instructions on how to secure the difference. Because most airlines issue these savings as travel vouchers rather than cash refunds, the utility of the feature depends on individual fare rules, such as those governing basic economy tickets. For users who find their original price was already the lowest available, the tool offers the secondary benefit of confirming they made a sound financial decision. This update follows the 2025 launch of Trips, a pre-booking monitoring tool, marking the company's expansion into full-journey travel support.
