YouTube introduces AI-generated custom video feeds
YouTube users in the United States can now build personalized video feeds through AI-driven text prompts. By entering descriptions of specific interests or moods into a new tab on the platform's homepage, viewers generate curated content streams that can be pinned for quick access across both mobile and desktop devices.
The feature, which currently supports English, functions by analyzing natural language inputs to pull relevant videos. A user might request guided meditations under ten minutes or deep-dive technical podcasts, prompting the system to assemble a tailored library. These feeds remain editable, allowing viewers to refine their prompts or generate entirely new spaces as their preferences shift.
To activate this functionality, users must keep their search and watch history enabled within their account settings. The platform has included a feedback mechanism via a three-dot menu, enabling users to report inaccuracies if the AI misinterprets a request. This rollout aligns YouTube with broader industry trends toward generative curation, following similar prompt-based initiatives seen on platforms like Spotify and Instagram.
