Logitech Refines the Superstrike Mouse in a Rapid X3 Iteration
A mere eight months after introducing haptic-actuator technology to its flagship gaming line, Logitech is launching the G Pro X3 Superstrike. Arriving October 6th with a $199.99 price tag, the new model arrives as an incremental update to the X2, prioritizing sensor precision and battery longevity over structural reinvention.
The core innovation remains the replacement of mechanical switches with haptic actuators, allowing users to calibrate the physical sensation of every click. While the X2 established this foundation, the X3 pushes the technical envelope with a wireless polling rate of 8,000Hz, a capability previously restricted to wired connections on its predecessor. Logitech also claims a significant jump in power efficiency, extending battery life to 135 hours compared to the previous 90-hour benchmark.
Under the hood, the Hero 2 sensor sees a modest elevation in performance metrics. The resolution ceiling climbs to 48K DPI, while maximum speed and acceleration reach 930 IPS and 90G, respectively. Despite these internal gains and a slight reduction in overall weight, the changes remain subtle. For the average user, the $20 price increase over the lingering $179.99 X2 may be difficult to justify, suggesting this iteration is aimed squarely at the competitive professional market where millisecond advantages dictate the outcome of play.
