Inmo Recalls Air3 Smart Glasses Over Serious Burn Hazards

Ten users have reported painful burns to their faces and ears while wearing Inmo’s Air3 smart glasses, prompting a formal recall of over 1,600 units in the US and Canada. The company warns that the device's left temple can overheat during extended use, creating a risk of severe injury.

The recall affects glasses sold between December 2025 and August 2026 via Amazon, Kickstarter, and the company’s website, with prices ranging from $900 to $1,300. Consumers can identify the faulty hardware by the black frames and the "Air3" and "Inmo" branding printed on the right temple. Inmo advises owners to stop using the devices immediately and contact their support team to receive a free software update intended to mitigate the thermal issue.

Despite the recent intervention by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the defect is not new. Users flagged overheating problems as early as seven months ago, noting the persistent burning sensation during operation. The manufacturer was aware of the hardware flaw long before the recall, even distributing protective sleeves with the units to shield wearers from the excessive heat. Now, the company is shifting toward a digital fix for a problem that previously required physical insulation.
