Former Fighter Jet Designer Launches SaponiQ Body Care Line

Sandy Palisch, an electrical engineer and former fighter jet designer, is pivoting from aerospace to personal care with the launch of SaponiQ. Her Richardson, Texas-based brand introduces six cold-process botanical cleansing bars designed to replace multi-step skincare routines with a single, high-performance shower experience.

The debut collection—Awake, Balance, Restore, Purify, Radiance, and Natural—aims to solve a common consumer dilemma: the growing pressure to adopt elaborate body-care regimens. By incorporating facial-skincare ingredients like activated charcoal, turmeric, and aloe directly into the bar, Palisch intends to streamline the shower ritual. Unlike many competitors that rely on pre-made bases, the company maintains full vertical integration, manufacturing every bar from scratch in its own U.S. facility.

Palisch credits her engineering background for the brand’s analytical approach to formulation. Each batch undergoes a four-week curing process to ensure longevity and hardness, avoiding synthetic fragrances and parabens in the process. The strategy aligns with recent market data suggesting that over 60% of Gen Z consumers are willing to pay a premium for products that simplify their daily routines. Individual bars retail for $22, with gift-ready discovery sets available through the brand's website.
