Former IRS Communications Chief Terry Lemons Joins Verito
As Cybersecurity Awareness Month begins, Verito has recruited Terry Lemons, the former long-time IRS Chief of Communications and Liaison, to serve as a strategic advisor. Lemons will focus on simplifying complex security mandates into actionable workflows for tax professionals who often find themselves managing IT by default.

Tax and accounting professionals frequently transition from handling client numbers to navigating intricate cybersecurity regulations. Verito, a cloud hosting provider specializing in this sector, aims to bridge that gap by leveraging Lemons’ experience. During his 26-year tenure at the IRS, Lemons worked extensively on the Security Summit—a collaborative initiative between the agency, state tax authorities, and private practitioners designed to combat identity theft.
Jatin Narang, CEO and founder of Verito, stated that the firm intends to relieve tax practitioners of the burden of managing technology. Lemons will assist in translating regulatory requirements into clear, manageable steps for firm owners. This partnership comes as many firms prepare to review their security posture and retrain staff following the October 15 tax extension deadline. Beyond advisory duties, Lemons will participate in industry webinars and panels to address the evolving threat landscape facing the accounting community.
