Nanalysis Names Philip Birkby Interim CFO
Calgary-based Nanalysis Scientific Corp. has tapped Philip Birkby to serve as its interim chief financial officer, effective October 5, 2026. The appointment follows the departure of Heather Kury, who concludes her tenure with the manufacturer of benchtop nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers after an undisclosed period of service.
Birkby, a CPA and CA with over 25 years of experience, joins the company following a career primarily rooted in the energy and financial services sectors. His background covers corporate governance, capital allocation, and risk management—areas where he has previously advised executive boards on liquidity and financing strategies. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Nanalysis currently maintains a diverse operational footprint, ranging from the production of lab-grade NMR technology to a services division that supports imaging equipment at more than 85 Canadian airports. The board of directors expressed gratitude to Kury for her contributions to the firm while initiating this leadership transition.
