Janice Burnette Expands Literacy Series with New Bible Story Collection
Retired reading specialist Janice Burnette has published her third collection of faith-based narratives, "3 More Bible Stories for Beginning Readers," designed to bridge the gap between early literacy development and foundational scripture study through simplified vocabulary and repetitive sentence structures.

Drawing on decades of classroom experience, Burnette crafted the book to target the specific needs of children learning to read independently. The volume features accounts of Zacchaeus, the healing of the lame man, and Jesus’ appearance to His disciples, all presented in large-print format to foster confidence in young learners.
Burnette, who serves as a Sunday school teacher in Sylva, North Carolina, emphasized that the predictable language is intentional. By removing complex syntax, she aims to help children focus on both their reading mechanics and their comprehension of biblical ministry. The book is currently available in softcover, hardcover, and electronic formats through WestBow Press, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
