SmallRig Charts Future of Imaging with New Global Scenarios Report
Under the banner of "Connect • Co-exist • New Frontier," Shenzhen-based SmallRig hosted its 3rd Visionary Storytellers Industry Forum this week. The event focused on the rapid convergence of professional and consumer imaging, culminating in the release of a comprehensive report detailing 12 core scenarios set to define the industry's next chapter.

The "2025-2026 Top 12 Global Imaging Scenarios Report" outlines a roadmap for a market currently shifting toward mobile cinematography and AI-driven production. The identified scenarios range from unscripted livestreaming and micro-dramas to specialized wildlife and macro photography. According to the data, the peripheral equipment sector is expected to grow at an annual rate of 9.2% over the next five years, outpacing host device sales. Central to this growth is the philosophy of using AI for efficiency while relying on human creators for the warmth and judgment that algorithms cannot replicate.
Founder and CEO Zhou Yang noted that SmallRig has sustained a 30% average annual growth rate over the last five years. He argued that competition is moving away from purely hardware-based specs toward the ability to identify unmet user needs in real-world settings. To facilitate this, the company is opening its supply chain and R&D infrastructure to external partners, aiming to bridge the gap between initial concept and mass-market production. The forum concluded with sessions on AI vision, robotics, and cross-disciplinary talent cultivation, signaling a move toward a more collaborative, ecosystem-based approach to imaging technology.
