DriveTestIQ Expands Driver License and CDL Prep to Mobile Apps
San Francisco-based startup DriveTestIQ has released dedicated iPhone and Android applications alongside a website overhaul to streamline how Americans prepare for state licensing exams. The platform integrates localized study materials for standard driver, commercial, and motorcycle licenses, allowing users to synchronize progress across desktop and mobile devices seamlessly.

The new mobile tools enable offline study, a critical feature for users without consistent internet access. By downloading state-specific question banks, learners can continue practicing during commutes or travel. The system mirrors the website interface, ensuring that progress tracking and the 'Fix List'—a feature that targets previously missed questions—remain consistent regardless of the device used.
Unlike platforms that rely on rote memorization, DriveTestIQ derives its content directly from state traffic statutes and federal regulations. Each answer includes a reference to the specific legal code, helping students grasp the underlying rules. For commercial drivers, the app provides up to 2,470 questions covering complex endorsements like HazMat and Air Brakes, while standard license seekers gain access to 657 state-specific questions. The service also accommodates non-English speakers by offering support for multiple languages, including Chinese, Spanish, and Tagalog, depending on the requirements of the specific state. Access is granted via a one-time purchase model rather than a recurring subscription.
