iFixit Teardown Proves Trump T1 Phone Is an HTC Rebrand
A forensic teardown by iFixit has finally settled the speculation surrounding the Trump T1 Phone, confirming it is functionally identical to the HTC U24 Pro. By swapping internal components between the two devices, technicians proved that the hardware architecture is essentially a mirror image of the existing HTC model.

The investigation, conducted in partnership with NBC, utilized CT scans and a full physical disassembly to map the internal layouts of both handsets. While the devices share an identical chassis design, headphone jacks, and microSD card slots, engineers noted subtle variations in the manufacturing supply chain. The Trump T1 Phone utilizes a memory chipset from Micron, whereas the HTC counterpart relies on SK Hynix. Additionally, the T1 features a slightly larger battery manufactured in the Philippines that supports a slower 30W charging speed compared to the standard U24 Pro.
HTC has consistently denied designing or manufacturing devices for third parties, despite the obvious hardware overlap. Given that the company offloaded the bulk of its smartphone division to Google in 2017, industry analysts suggest that both brands likely outsourced their production to the same original design manufacturer. This shared origin explains why the T1 Phone and the U24 Pro remain hardware twins, despite their disparate branding.
