Reliable USB-C Docks for Nintendo Switch 2 Under $70
Nintendo’s transition to new wireless protocols and proprietary video output standards for the Switch 2 initially left third-party accessory makers in the dark. Years after the launch of the original Covert Dock, consumers now have two proven, firmware-upgradable alternatives that bypass the need for expensive, first-party hardware solutions.

The Jsaux OmniCentro Dock, priced at $45.99, and Genki’s $69.99 Covert Dock 3 represent the current gold standard for third-party connectivity. Both hubs deliver 4K output at 120Hz—though the console itself caps at 4K/60Hz—and support 1440p or 1080p at 120Hz with HDR. They also provide 65W PD fast charging and a spare USB-A port for wireless transmitters or additional controllers. While Genki’s higher price point appears largely tied to its translucent orange aesthetic, the functional parity between the two devices is significant.
Beyond technical specifications, the primary advantage of these docks lies in their portability and future-proofing. Both designs feature foldable prongs for travel, addressing the common issue of snagging in bags. More importantly, both manufacturers support firmware updates to mitigate the risk of console software rendering the hardware obsolete. Given that a November 2025 system update previously blocked several third-party docks, this ability to adapt to Nintendo’s ongoing changes is essential for any owner looking to expand their setup beyond the standard living room dock.
