Taylor Morrison Taps Mike Carlo to Lead Sarasota Division
With over 25 years of industry experience, Mike Carlo steps into the role of division president for Taylor Morrison in Sarasota. His appointment arrives as the Scottsdale-based homebuilder prepares to expand its regional footprint with two major resort-style developments scheduled to launch over the next year.
Carlo joins the company after a nine-year tenure at Richmond American Homes, where he served as division president for Jacksonville and Orlando. His background also includes leadership roles at CenterPoint Properties and Lennar’s Northeast Florida operations. Area President Steve Kempton noted that the company selected Carlo for his ability to manage high-performing teams and execute complex land-acquisition strategies.
Taylor Morrison currently manages seven active communities in the Sarasota market. The division is set to grow significantly with the addition of Esplanade at Wellen Park in Venice, which features 877 single-family homes, and the upcoming Esplanade at Cammaray in Lakewood Ranch, a 1,200-unit development slated for early 2027. Both projects focus on the brand's signature resort-style amenities, including fitness centers, wellness facilities, and expansive outdoor recreation spaces.
