Equinix, Cisco and NVIDIA Launch Global AI Infrastructure Initiative
Equinix is moving to accelerate enterprise AI adoption by rolling out the Cisco Secure AI Factory architecture across its global data center network. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between pilot programs and full-scale production by providing standardized blueprints and specialized hardware environments for businesses.

The collaboration integrates Cisco’s infrastructure with NVIDIA’s AI hardware, leveraging Equinix’s high-performance facilities to handle the power and cooling requirements of modern AI workloads. To facilitate this transition, the company is partnering with technology services provider Presidio to launch the Programmable AI Technology Hub (P.A.T.H.) Lab. This facility offers a production-grade environment where enterprises can validate their AI strategies and infrastructure before committing to widespread deployment.
Gordon Mackintosh, Senior Vice President at Equinix, noted that the project is designed to provide businesses with the certainty needed to scale AI operations. By utilizing reference architectures that mirror real-world procurement and deployment patterns, the partnership aims to simplify the technical hurdles associated with hybrid cloud and on-premises AI projects. Tim McHugh, VP of Partnerships and Alliances at Presidio, emphasized that the focus has shifted from merely selecting a model to building robust, distributed infrastructure that maintains data control and sovereignty.
