Natural Cycles Introduces Proprietary Wristband for Fertility Tracking
Natural Cycles is moving away from manual thermometers, launching a $129.99 wristband designed to automate fertility data collection. The device tracks skin temperature, heart rate, and sleep movement, syncing directly with the company’s FDA-cleared app to determine daily fertility status for users seeking to plan or prevent pregnancy.

The company’s shift toward wearable technology aims to simplify data entry for its subscribers. While the app already integrates with the Apple Watch and Oura Ring, this new hardware provides a dedicated option for those without existing smart devices. It remains distinct from the company's integrations with Samsung Galaxy products, which are currently restricted to cycle tracking rather than pregnancy prevention.
Since receiving FDA clearance in 2018, the app has faced scrutiny regarding its efficacy. Initial criticism followed reports of unwanted pregnancies, though Swedish regulators concluded the system performed within its advertised failure rates. To address privacy concerns heightened by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the company maintains that it utilizes pseudonymization and encryption to protect user data.
The band, which features a 14-night battery life and Bluetooth 5.0 LE connectivity, was initially tested during an October rollout for perimenopause tracking. Current subscribers can purchase the hardware for a discounted $99.99, while new users can bundle the device with an annual subscription for $149.99.
