DJI Debuts Osmo Pocket 4P With Dual-Camera System
Following a brief preview at the Cannes Film Festival, DJI has officially unveiled the Osmo Pocket 4P in China. The stabilized camera arrives with a 1-inch sensor and enhanced dynamic range, positioning itself as a direct, lower-cost alternative to the Insta360 Luna Ultra despite current regional availability hurdles.

The Pocket 4P enters the market at ¥3799, roughly $562, undercutting the $769.99 price tag of its primary rival. While global pricing remains unconfirmed and direct US sales appear unlikely, the hardware upgrades justify the interest. The primary wide-angle lens now utilizes a 1-inch 4K sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, delivering 17 stops of dynamic range when utilizing DJI’s D-Log 2 profile. This marks a notable improvement over the 14 stops found in the standard Pocket 4.
Complementing the main sensor is a secondary telephoto camera. DJI opted for a 1/1.28-inch sensor paired with a 60mm-equivalent f/1.8 lens. This setup enables 3X optical zoom, which extends to 6X via sensor cropping and reaches 12X through digital processing. While the Insta360 Luna Ultra boasts 8K resolution, the Pocket 4P prioritizes refined 4K slow-motion performance and specialized optics, forcing a choice between raw resolution and the specific color science and stabilization DJI is known for.
