Operating under the Speria brand, FoodTech has matured into a standalone entity with limited operational overlap with Munters' other divisions. The business has seen rapid expansion, with net sales climbing from 553 million SEK in 2022 to 1.75 billion SEK by 2025. During the same timeframe, adjusted EBITA tripled to 297 million SEK, representing 16 percent of the group’s total adjusted EBITA in 2025.

Klas Forsström, President and CEO of Munters, stated that the division is well-positioned for an independent future under new ownership. Stefan Aspman, the incoming CEO, noted that the divestment will provide the flexibility needed to drive innovation in the company's remaining mission-critical climate control businesses. Munters has appointed Evercore to serve as the financial advisor for the potential transaction. The company will continue to support FoodTech’s operations and employees throughout the evaluation process.
