Washingtonian Names 21 Virginia Cancer Specialists to Hall of Fame
Twenty-one physicians from Virginia Cancer Specialists have been inducted into the Washingtonian “Top Doctors” Hall of Fame. The designation honors medical professionals who have earned repeated recognition from their peers for consistent excellence in patient care and clinical leadership within the Northern Virginia medical community.

Executive Director Ann Miner stated the recognition reflects the trust earned from both colleagues and patients over years of practice. The inductees represent a diverse range of expertise, spanning breast and thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology. The list includes Stephanie R. Akbari, Elizabeth D. Feldman, Hernan Vargas, David Weintritt, Sandeep J. Khandhar, Harold C. Agbahiwe, Gregory S. Sibley, Ivan Aksentijevich, Robert J. Christie, Ajay Dar, Anne Favret, John Feigert, Mitul Gandhi, Alina M. Huang, Jey A. Maran, Geoffrey D. Moorer, Jacob A. Ninan, Dipti Patel-Donnelly, Keeran R. Sampat, Alexander I. Spira, and Shruti Tiwari.
Virginia Cancer Specialists operates as the largest private oncology practice in Northern Virginia. Beyond clinical care, the organization maintains an extensive research portfolio through the Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute and a partnership with NEXT Oncology. The practice is part of The US Oncology Network, a collaborative group of 2,700 affiliated physicians across 31 states, and maintains a strategic research partnership with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute.
