MINISO to Install 50 Life-Sized YOYO Figures at Grand Central Terminal
Fifty life-sized YOYO figures are set to descend upon New York City this month as MINISO transforms Vanderbilt Hall into an immersive art installation. Running from June 20 to July 12, the exhibition marks the first time the company has brought its proprietary IP into a North American public space.

The exhibition features 50 five-foot tall YOYO figures alongside a 40-foot inflatable centerpiece, turning the terminal into a hub for the brand’s minimalist, pumpkin-headed character. First introduced in 2025, YOYO serves as the focal point for MINISO’s "Life is for Fun" philosophy. The display incorporates designs from global artists and local community groups, aiming to pivot the character from a simple product line into a platform for public engagement. By placing these oversized figures in one of the city's busiest transit centers, MINISO intends to highlight small, everyday moments of joy within a high-traffic urban environment. This activation represents a strategic shift for the retailer as it expands its footprint as a global IP-led operation.
