Palm Beach County Opens First Residential Campus for Adults with I/DD
Florida ranks 49th nationally in support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a disparity Greenacres is now working to bridge. On June 23, 2026, the community will unveil the Ruttura Family Campus at The IDDeal Place, marking the state's eighth residential facility designed specifically for this vulnerable population.

The project, bolstered by a significant investment from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, establishes a permanent home focused on safety, dignity, and independence. Located at 5700 Bentbrook Blvd., the campus arrives as a direct response to a mounting housing crisis that has left many families without long-term options for their adult children. By providing a structured environment with dedicated support, the facility aims to replace the uncertainty many families face with a sense of stability and belonging.
State Senator Tina Polsky and Representative Anne Gerwig are scheduled to join foundation CEO Nancy Pulte Rickard and project director Bonnie Schmidt for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Beyond the inaugural event, the campus will serve as a model for how private partnerships can address gaps in public care systems. The residence offers a rare opportunity for residents to live with purpose while alleviating the immense pressure on caregivers who have long sought sustainable, lifelong living arrangements within Palm Beach County.
