D2L Unveils Trust by Design Track for Fusion 2026
As educational institutions grapple with the rapid integration of artificial intelligence and complex cloud infrastructure, D2L has introduced a dedicated session track for its upcoming Fusion 2026 conference. The initiative focuses on embedding security and governance directly into the framework of modern learning environments.
Scheduled for July 8–10 in Phoenix, Arizona, the new track addresses the mounting pressure on academic leaders to balance innovation with data integrity. The sessions aim to bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and institutional policy through peer-led discussions and case studies. Andrew Datars, Chief Technology Officer at D2L, noted that security cannot remain an afterthought, emphasizing that responsible innovation requires a foundation of clarity and resilience.
Participants will examine critical areas including AI governance, cloud modernization, and cybersecurity. The lineup features representatives from the University of Maryland Global Campus, the University of Toronto, and Auburn University, alongside industry partners like AWS and Okta. Specific panels will tackle the transition from legacy SCORM workflows to more interactive frameworks, as well as global findings on AI decision-making from the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association. These sessions are intended to provide actionable strategies for administrators navigating the complexities of the current digital education landscape.
