The project involved installing a new above-ground welded steel storage tank engineered to withstand seismic activity, a critical upgrade for the area. Beyond structural improvements, the utility modernized the facility’s electrical grid and added a backup generator to ensure continuous operations during power outages. These enhancements aim to safeguard both residential water access and fire protection capabilities.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis and La Puente Mayor Charlie Klinakis joined utility officials at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the work. Suburban President Craig Gott noted that while such infrastructure often functions out of public view, the investment is necessary to maintain service standards for the 300,000 residents served across Los Angeles and Orange counties. The utility continues to offer bill assistance programs for qualifying customers as part of its ongoing commitment to affordability.
