Huawei’s 506kW Inverter Claims Top Honors at Intersolar Europe 2026
In Munich, Huawei’s SUN2000-506KTL smart string inverter secured the smarter E AWARD 2026 in the Photovoltaics category, standing out as the only utility-scale inverter to earn the distinction. The accolade highlights the company's latest push to transform solar plants from passive generation sources into intelligent, grid-supporting assets.
The SUN2000-506KTL represents a significant leap over the previous SUN2000-330KTL model. As the industry's first commercialized 500kW+ string inverter, it introduces three technical breakthroughs: a 1000Vac output, grid-forming capabilities, and industry-leading power density. These features aim to lower balance-of-system costs while improving lifecycle economics for large-scale energy projects.
Currently serving as the flagship component of Huawei’s FusionSolar 9.0 utility solution, the technology is already seeing rapid international adoption. More than 10GW of projects worldwide are under construction using this platform, following successful initial deployments across the Chinese market throughout 2025. By shifting focus toward grid-forming performance and simplified maintenance, the company is positioning its hardware as a central pillar for future energy transitions.
