Milito and Butragueño Join Fair Play Menarini Honorees

Milito, affectionately known as El Príncipe, remains etched in football history for his instrumental role in Inter Milan’s 2010 treble-winning campaign, highlighted by his decisive brace in the Champions League final. Joining him is Real Madrid legend Emilio Butragueño. Often called El Buitre, he defined the club’s prolific output during the 1980s and continues to serve as an enduring symbol of Spanish football heritage.

Foundation board members Luca Lastrucci, Valeria Speroni Cardi, and Filippo Paganelli noted that both men represent the core tenets of the award, which has spent three decades promoting fairness as a universal standard. They join a diverse 2026 cohort that includes pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, race walker Antonella Palmisano, Paralympic fencer Bebe Vio, and journalist Fabio Caressa, among other distinguished figures across swimming, volleyball, and ice skating.
