PURIS Acquires Florida-Based Amici Engineering Contractors
PURIS, a water infrastructure firm backed by J.F. Lehman & Company, has finalized its acquisition of Amici Engineering Contractors. This move integrates the Florida-based specialist in horizontal directional drilling and complex pipeline construction into the PURIS portfolio, aiming to bolster its regional market footprint and technical service capabilities.

Founded in 2019, Amici operates out of Zephyrhills and Miami, focusing on the rehabilitation and installation of critical potable water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The acquisition allows PURIS to leverage Amici’s engineering-led approach to expand its existing service offerings across Florida.
Mick Fegan, CEO of PURIS, stated that the firm’s capabilities provide a natural complement to their current platform. Amici co-founders Juan Barreneche, Nelson Liberti, and Christopher Lazzari will remain involved as the company transitions into the broader PURIS network. J.F. Lehman & Company Managing Director Kevin Vallès noted that the deal aligns with their strategy of augmenting organic growth through targeted acquisitions. A&O Shearman acted as legal counsel for PURIS, while Akerman LLP represented Amici during the transaction.
