Jay Humphlett Named to Lead Aviation and Public Sector at The Weather Company
A former U.S. Navy TOPGUN graduate and veteran tech executive, Jay Humphlett has been tapped to lead the aviation and public sector division at The Weather Company. He takes the helm with a mandate to scale the company’s high-stakes weather intelligence platforms for defense and government clients worldwide.

Humphlett arrives with more than 25 years of experience in SaaS, AI, and hardware integration. His focus will center on expanding the reach of the Dynamic Risk Operations Platform (DROP), a tool designed to provide precise meteorological insights for mission-critical environments. His background as a former Naval Flight Officer, having flown F-14 Tomcats during combat operations, provides the tactical perspective needed to navigate the intersection of climate volatility and geopolitical security.
Prior to this appointment, Humphlett served as president of public sector at Ethos Systems. His career history includes executive roles at Dataminr and Raytheon, alongside advisory positions with firms like Sierra Nevada Corp. and DroneShield. At The Weather Company, he plans to prioritize the delivery of bespoke data solutions, ensuring that government and aviation leaders can maintain operational continuity despite increasingly unpredictable weather patterns.
