Skanska Secures $325 Million Contract for Cincinnati Marriott
A new 21-story high-rise hotel is set to reshape downtown Cincinnati, as Skanska officially signed a $325 million contract with a Portman Holdings entity. The project, designed to bolster the city’s convention capacity, will occupy a prime location directly across from the First Financial Convention Center.

The massive undertaking involves constructing a 61,400-square-meter facility featuring 700 guest rooms. Beyond lodging, the structure will integrate a rooftop terrace, extensive conference and ballroom spaces, and ground-floor retail. A dedicated skybridge will connect the Marriott directly to the convention center and local parking infrastructure, aiming to streamline logistics for large-scale events and drive regional economic development.
Construction is slated to begin this month, with the timeline projecting a completion date by the end of 2028. The contract value, equivalent to approximately 3.0 billion SEK, will be reflected in the company’s U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of 2026.
