Avinox Debuts MG Concept Motor at Eurobike 2026
At the Eurobike trade show in Frankfurt, e-bike systems developer Avinox has unveiled its MG Concept Motor, a new platform designed to eliminate traditional maintenance while streamlining gear shifting. Developed alongside five major industry partners, the system marks a rapid expansion for the company just months after its M2S and M2 launches.

The MG Concept Motor emphasizes mechanical simplicity and refined performance. It features an internal derailleur unit that requires no maintenance over its lifespan and removes the need for a rear derailleur or multi-speed cassette. The motor is engineered for versatility, allowing it to be integrated into eMTB, eTrekking, eGravel, and eSUV models. Performance highlights include gear shifts executed in under 0.1 seconds, with options for manual or AI-driven automatic cadencing. Additionally, the unit incorporates an anti-theft system that locks the motor even when the battery is depleted.
Alongside the prototype, Avinox is showcasing its Smoothshift electronic drivetrain, which allows for gear changes without the need for pedaling. This system reduces torque during shifts to protect the drivetrain and minimize mechanical shock. The technology is already appearing on the new Amflow TL SUV e-bike. Beyond its own hardware, Avinox is using its debut as an independent exhibitor to host 19 partner brands at its Messe Frankfurt booth, facilitating a series of industry workshops focused on the future of electric mobility.
