Sungrow Debuts SG125CX-P3 Inverter for Industrial Solar Safety
At Intersolar Europe 2026, Sungrow unveiled the SG125CX-P3, a 125kW string inverter engineered for commercial and industrial solar installations. The new hardware integrates active protection architecture with high-efficiency power conversion, aiming to mitigate fire risks and equipment downtime in complex, large-scale energy environments.

The SG125CX-P3 achieves a 98.5% conversion efficiency while supporting high-power modules through a 40A 2-in-1 input current configuration. To maintain performance in heat, the unit utilizes the ECOOLIN circulating air cooling system, which allows the inverter to operate at full capacity even when temperatures hit 50°C. Global MPPT scanning technology further optimizes power output by tracking the maximum power point across varying conditions, supplemented by overnight PID recovery to preserve hardware longevity.
Safety is the primary focus of the new architecture, specifically through the implementation of AFCI 3.0+ technology. This system detects arc faults with greater precision, identifying issues up to 600 meters away. Additional safeguards include a 15ms response time for ground fault protection and an intelligent 2-in-1 string-level disconnection feature that isolates high-risk faults in under 20 milliseconds. The unit is built for harsh environments, featuring IP66 protection and a C5 anti-corrosion rating to prevent hardware degradation.
Operational maintenance is streamlined through automated diagnostics, including insulation fault localization that claims to reduce inspection time by 95%. The system also features a self-cleaning air duct mechanism that removes dust without requiring a system shutdown. By integrating with Sungrow’s existing PowerStack and PowerKeeper storage systems, the SG125CX-P3 allows for scalable solar-plus-storage setups, supporting both AC and DC-coupled configurations for industrial energy management.
