Loacker USA Taps Industry Veteran Matt Thomas to Lead Southern Sales
Matt Thomas, a food and beverage industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed Head of South Region Sales at Loacker USA. He arrives as the Italian confectionery brand seeks to deepen its footprint across the Southeastern United States and secure its position within major regional retail chains.
Thomas joins the company following a tenure as Director of Key Accounts East at Icelandic Glacial Water, where he oversaw East Coast distribution networks. His career includes leadership roles at brands such as Bauducco, Pretzel Crisps, and Red Bull, providing him with a background in navigating grocery, convenience, and specialty retail channels. TJ Rooney, president of Loacker USA, noted that Thomas will be instrumental in managing retail partnerships and driving regional revenue growth.
In his new capacity, Thomas will act as the primary liaison for several significant retail accounts, including Food Lion, Harris Teeter, The Fresh Market, and Piggly Wiggly. He intends to leverage his experience with distributor leadership and territory expansion to increase the availability of the company’s wafer and chocolate products across the South.
